Man dies after being hit by vehicle in Columbia

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A man was pronounced dead at a hospital Thursday after being hit by a vehicle in Columbia the previous day, police say.

James Lee Allen, 78, of Columbia was hit at about 5 p.m. Wednesday near Keene Street and Wingate Court, the Columbia Police Department said in a social media post. Allen was taken to a hospital but pronounced dead on Thursday, police say.

Allen's next of kin have been notified.

CPD's Traffic Unit is investigating the crash and more information might be made available later, according to the post.
