Salvation Army of Columbia holds toy-distribution event

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Salvation Army in Columbia held its annual toy-store event on Tuesday.

This was the third year families were able pick which toys or clothes they would like, instead of it being pre-chosen for them.

A spokesperson for the organization estimates nearly 300 families will be helped this year.

“Our goal in this event is just to make sure kids have a great Christmas,” Salvation Army Corps Leader Kevin Cedervall said. “We want parents to have a gift to give their kids and some extra treats and it’s all made possible by the giving of our community.”

The Salvation Army is still accepting donations online.
