Gas service restored in northeastern Columbia after leak reported Thursday morning

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A gas leak reported early Thursday was caused by third-party crews, according to an email from an Ameren Missouri spokesperson.

A gas leak was reported at a mobile home park in the 3900 block of Clark Lane on Thursday morning.

A Columbia firefighter told an ABC 17 News reporter that a gas line was hit while a crew was working on water lines. An Ameren Missouri spokesperson said in an email that gas was shut off to the area at 10:20 a.m. and service was restored by 2 p.m.. The spokesperson said a crew in the area, “cut the two-inch main.”

One residence was evacuated for safety concerns at the time of the leak.
