Power restored to more than 1,900 in East Columbia

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Power has been restored after 1,985 customers were without power in East Columbia.

The outage was reported at 12:52 p.m. and crews had power back on by 1:35 p.m. on Friday, according to the City of Columbia Public Outage Map.

Boone County Joint Communications reported a power outage is creating a traffic hazard at Providence Road and Stadium Boulevard.

The outage happened when a truck backed into a power pole, a Columbia Water and Light spokesman said. It lasted for about 40 minutes.
