COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Police closed down parts of East Broadway and College Avenue after a call went out of a suicidal person in Downtown Columbia.

Part of Broadway remained closed just before 10:30 a.m. Police had tape up across part of the road. The scene had cleared by 11 a.m.

A Columbia Police Department spokesperson told an ABC 17 News reporter at the scene that a man was injured and lying in the road. He was in critical but stable condition, the spokesperson said.

The closures happened a little after 9:30 a.m. as dispatchers sent out a call about a suicidal person. College and Broadway are two of the busiest streets downtown.
