COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Columbia Public Library announced in an email that it is canceling its curbside service on Thursday and Friday because of extreme heat.

Its curbside service typically includes library staff bringing out books to the cars of patrons who call ahead to check out books. The drop-off takes place in the parking lot of the library.

The library recommends residents to check out its social media and website to stay up to date on the cancelation.

The ABC 17 News Stormtrack Weather Team issued a Weather Alert Day for Thursday and Friday, as the heat index has the chance to hit 110 degrees.
