COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The pool at the Albert-Oakland Family Aquatic Center will resume its normal hours after an early-season run filled with intermittent closures for maintenance, the City of Columbia said Friday.

Meanwhile, another pool will not open as scheduled this year because of a lack of staff.

The Albert-Oakland pool will resume its normal Sunday-through-Wednesday, noon to 5 p.m. schedule this Sunday, the city said in a news release. The pool will be open on Juneteenth and Independence Day from noon to 5 p.m.

Hours had been reduced to noon to 3 p.m., punctuated by closures, because of a mechanical problem.

The Lake of the Woods pool had been scheduled to open June 28 but will remain dry this year unless the city can hire more lifeguards. The city will consider reopening the pool if more lifeguards are hired.
