Life slows down a little in Columbia in the summer.

Traffic is lighter and downtown is quieter with many college students out of town and faculty taking extended vacations. However, the city still offers things to do, such as Summerfest concerts.

Of course, the weather is Missouri's typical summer mix of high heat and humidity.
