CPD to host free active-assailant response training April 22

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ) 

The Columbia Police Department announced in a Friday press release that it will host a free active-assailant response training session.

The session will take place from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, April 22 at the CPD Regional Training Center, 5001 Meyer Industrial Drive. The training will introduce attendees to the process of planning for and reacting to an armed intruder.

Pre-registration is required and there are 56 openings available, the press release stated.

The department held a similar training session for the public in August 2022 and trained other City departments throughout last summer. CPD will offer another training session from noon-2 p.m. Saturday, July 29.
