Columbia Police arrest suspect in alleged kidnapping and rape

COLUMBIA, Mo (KMIZ)

Columbia Police are investigating an alleged kidnapping and rape that took place Friday afternoon.

Police say, around 12:45 p.m. authorities were called to the 2300 block of Whitegate Drive.

CPD says, they spoke to a victim at that address on White Gate who provided them with evidence and a witness to the claims.

Police have arrested 23- year-old Elijah Schwartz-Jefferies and he is being charged with first-degree kidnapping, second-degree assault, two counts of first-degree sodomy, and two counts of rape.

Columbia police said, that due to the victim and nature of the crime that they would not be commenting further on the case but added the investigation was on going.

Schwartz-Jefferies is currently in the Boone County Jail and is awaiting his first court appearance.
