Behind-the-scenes tour of new Columbia Regional Airport terminal
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Columbia Regional Airport took people on a behind-the-scenes tour of the new terminal Tuesday afternoon.
The tour featured several new additions including new passenger boarding bridges for the first time.
The tour also showed off the new terminal which will feature a restaurant, ticketing area, waiting area and baggage claim.
The baggage claim will feature information about Mizzou game schedules along with information about things to do in Mid-Missouri.
The new terminal is expected to bring passengers from all over Mid-Missouri.
"We've supported bringing the airlines here over the years with those kinds of support that we could offer and also just being here and we are a big user of the airport, we're a large percentage of users from Jefferson City, and we think this will even expand on that," said Carrie Tergin, Jefferson City mayor.
The terminal is still under construction but Airport Manager Mike Parks says they hope to have it finished in September.
