Non-profit pays off mortgage for Boone County Assistant Fire Chief that died in the line of duty

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation has paid off the mortgage on the home of former Assistant Fire Chief Bryant Gladney.

On December 22, 2021, Assistant Fire Chief Gladney died after getting hit by an 18-wheeler while responding to an early morning call on Interstate 70.

Gladney had worked in the emergency response department for mid-Missouri for over 25 years earning the title of Assistant Fire Chief in 2020.

"Bryant’s passing was the worst day of my life but this is unbelievable. I can’t thank Tunnel to Towers enough,” said Jamie Gladney in a release.

Assistant Fire Chief Bryant Gladney is survived by his wife, Jamie, two sons, and his daughter-in-law.
