City asks drivers to avoid busy Columbia intersection

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The city's public works department is asking drivers to avoid a busy north Columbia intersection as crews repair a broken traffic light.

The traffic lights at Providence Road and Vandiver Drive needed work after malfunctioning Thursday morning, Columbia Public Works said in a news release. The city started work to fix a damaged traffic signal pole while workers were at the location, according to the release.

The intersection will be closed to eastbound traffic coming from Leslie Lane while work continues. The project is expected to wrap up by late in the day on March 11.

Public Works is asking drivers to avoid the intersection in the meantime.
