COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Boone County Sheriff's deputies are searching for a suspect that allegedly stole a vehicle and then caused a wreck.

Deputies on scene report the incident started as a stolen vehicle chase.

Officials report the vehicle ran a red light and hit two other vehicles. An ambulance took two people to the hospital for their injuries.

Columbia police are using a police dog to track the suspect that ran off on foot.
