Water main break shuts down west Columbia road

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

UPDATE: ABC17 News crews went back to the scene around 5:30, and Fairview had opened back up.

ORIGINAL: A road near two major grocery stores in west Columbia was closed due to a water main break on Sunday afternoon.

Boone County Joint Communications tweeted that a portion of Fairview Road at Broadway was closed due to a water main break around 2:40 p.m..

ABC17 News has reached out to the Columbia Public Works Department for more information about the incident but hasn't heard back.
