13th Circuit Court moving to Phase 3

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

In-person court hearings could soon resume at the 13th Circuit Court at Boone County Courthouse.

The courthouse moved to Phase 2 on Feb. 22 based on no in-house positives and improving numbers of COVID in both counties.

The court is now moving up to Phase 3 after being in Phase 2 for more than 14 days due to no new positives in the courts and continued improved community numbers, plus the vaccine being more readily available.

Occupancy of courtrooms and spaces are still to operate under social distancing protocols.

Face mask are still require per the Supreme Court requirements. Masks are provided for free to anyone who needs it.

The court will continue utilizing available technology when possible to limit in-person courtroom appearances to the extent practicable.

The 13th Judicial Circuit Court covers both Boone and Callaway Counties.
