COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Jefferson City man was in critical condition Monday afternoon after being hit by a vehicle on a busy Columbia road.

Columbia police were sent to the scene at the Interstate70/Highway 63 connector a little after 9 a.m. Some lanes of the northbound Highway 63 ramp at the connector and were closed for about 30 minutes.

Paul Catron, 37, of Jefferson City was traveling north through the connector in a 2020 Ford Explorer when his vehicle hit Robert Glover Jr., 22, police said. The Columbia Police Department said Glover was crossing the connector on foot from the east side.

Glover was transported by paramedics to University Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Drug or alcohol impairment is not considered a factor.

An MU Health Care spokesman said Glover was in serious condition as of late Tuesday afternoon.
