Columbia crews block off I-70 Drive Southwest, ambulance off roadway

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia emergency crews blocked off I-70 Drive Southwest Friday morning.

An ABC 17 News crew said an ambulance was seen partially off the roadway near the Silvey Street intersection.

Columbia Public Works crews said the ambulance was responding to a call at the top of the hill on Silvey but couldn't make it all the way because of the road conditions. Public works added two EMS workers were still inside the vehicle -- firefighters said they were able to get out safely.

The news crew said multiple Columbia Fire Department vehicles and a Columbia police officer had the road blocked off. Tow trucks were also called to the scene.

It wasn't immediately clear how the ambulance went off the road or if anyone was hurt.
