COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Crews closed a lane of Interstate 70 West because of a Monday morning semi-truck fire in Columbia.

The MoDOT Traveler Information Map said the interstate was closed after 8 a.m. and that delays could last an hour.

Boone County Joint Communications said the vehicle fire near the I-70 and Highway 63 connector was creating a traffic hazard.

The MoDOT map showed a large amount of smoke coming off of the semi. It also showed a large back-up on the interstate.

It's unclear if anyone is hurt from the incident.

This is a developing story, check back for updates.
