State Farm to sublease rest of Columbia campus to Veterans United
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Insurance company State Farm will sublease its campus on Providence Road to Veterans United starting Dec. 1.
State Farm employs about 450 people in the area. Most of those employees are already working from home and will continue to do so, spokeswoman Tammi Estes said in an email. Estes did not say if any would lose their jobs.
Estes said the company continues to "evaluate all its operations" to ensure it has "the right people in the right places."
The building at 4700 S. Providence Road is owned by a foreign LLC called JDM II SF National LLC, according to Boone County assessor's records. The appraised value of the property and building is nearly $25 million.
In a statement about the lease, Veterans United Chief People Officer Amanda Andrade said the company is growing. Veterans United added nearly 1,400 new jobs in the past year, Andrade wrote.
"This lease will allow us to continue to provide great customer service to Veterans and military families nationwide," Andrade said. "And, as we continue to face the pandemic, the additional space will allow our employees to continue to maintain social distancing."
Veterans United has been using the building's second floor, company spokesman Chris Cline said. Stating in December it will use the first floor, as well.
Veterans United provides home loans and other financing for veterans.
