Police looking for suspect after central Columbia shooting

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A suspect is still on the loose after a shooting early Tuesday morning in central Columbia.

Columbia police say a man shot a female in a home during a burglary on East Forest Avenue around 2 a.m. Tuesday.

Police said a female victim was taken to a local hospital and was in stable condition.

Officers say the suspect ran from the scene.

CPD later responded to an area of 4th Street looking for a person connected to the burglary but did not locate anyone.

Police say the man is considered armed and dangerous and that residents should use caution.
