Columbia police are investigating a robbery and shooting in the 4300 block of Derby Ridge Dr. Wednesday.

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Police are investigating an early Wednesday robbery and shooting in north Columbia.

Columbia Police were called to a home invasion in the 4300 block of Derby Ridge Drive around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday. While officers were responding to the area, they were told shots had been fired.

During an investigation, officers on the scene said they found evidence of a shooting. No one was hurt in the incident.

Police later said in a news release that the residents heard a loud bang before an intruder entered their apartment. They told police they exchanged gunfire with the intruder, the Columbia Police Department said.

Police said Wednesday afternoon they had not identified any suspects.
