Police looking for man in north Columbia

Columbia police stationed on Parker Street after the police department tweeted officers were looking for a man in the area Thursday afternoon, April 16.

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

UPDATE 1:58 P.M.: The Columbia Police Department said officers are looking for 36-year-old Roderick Jones, of Columbia.

ORIGINAL: The Columbia Police Department said officers looked for a man in north Columbia on Thursday afternoon.

An ABC 17 News crew said some officers had guns drawn and were searching the area surrounding the Cape House apartment building on Parker Street.

Crews said officers also had K9 units at the scene.

A tweet from police department at 12:50 p.m. said officers looked for the man in the area of Vandiver Drive and Parker Street. Officers were seen along Parker and Herriford Road.

Officers said if anybody sees the man matching their description to call 911 and not to approach the subject.

As of Thursday afternoon, it's unclear why police are searching for the man.
