Police seek two men in Columbia home invasion

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A told officers that she and a child were inside a home when two men broke in and assaulted her, Columbia police said Thursday.

The home invasion was reported in the 5000 block of Geyser Boulevard at about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, police said. The woman told officers two men broke in through a living room window and assaulted her once they were inside, the Columbia Police Department said in a news release.

The woman was not injured.

The woman said intruders stole what police called "personal items" before leaving, according to the release.

Police said the investigation was ongoing and no other details would be released.

An ABC 17 News reporter saw nearly a dozen police cars in the area late Wednesday. Officers wearing respirator masks searched the area with flashlights and a dog to look for the intruders.
