A line of severe winter storms that moved across mid-Missouri Friday downed trees and caused power outages.

A tree in a yard of the 1300 block of Robert Ray Drive uprooted and fell on a resident's home. Another tree in the neighborhood uprooted and split, causing a branch to fall into the street.

Authorities were called to the scene around 1:40 a.m. Saturday. ABC 17 News has reached out to fire and police for more information about the incident.

Trees and power lines collected ice throughout the day Friday, prompting nearly 1,200 Water and Light customers in central Columbia to lose power.

It is not clear if the downed tree was weather related.

One branch is still blocking the street.
