EDITOR'S NOTE: A lawyer for Kentrell Minton Sr. confirmed that the suspect named by police was actually Kintrell Minton Jr.

The Columbia Police Department said a teenager is suspected of pulling out a gun during a verbal fight at the city's Activity and Recreation Center on Sunday.

A sourcing error erroneously reported that 19-year-old Kentrell Minton had been arrested after the alleged incident at the ARC around 1:54 p.m.

A press release from CPD said the alleged victim told ARC staff about the gun and that it was in Minton's bag. Officers said ARC staff took Minton's bag and kept him from leaving the premises until police arrived.

The gun was not fired during the argument. CPD said Minton is not allowed into the ARC facility or any city parks.

CPD is still investigating. Anyone with information on the situation is asked to call the Columbia Police Department at 573-874-7652 or CrimeStoppers at 875-TIPS.
