11 Cole County roads closed due to flooding

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Nearly a dozen roads in Cole County were closed Wednesday evening because of flooding, according to an email from Cole County Public Works Administrator Teresa Wilson.

Storms went through Mid-Missouri on Wednesday after coming through earlier in the week.

The 11 roads closed in Cole County included:

  • 9900-10200 blocks of Scrivner Road, as well as the 5900 block
  • 7600 block of Campbell Road
  • 8700 block of Payne Road
  • 11100 block of North Branch Road
  • 5500 block of Loesch Road
  • 5900 block of Bainer Road
  • 3100 block of Zion Road
  • 6100 block of Buffalo Road
  • 1400 block of Waterford Road
  • 2800 block of Meadowsford Road
  • 7400 block of Vaughn Ford Road

ABC 17 News went to the 3100 block of Zion Road in Cole County early Thursday, and sections of the road were not passable because of the flooding. There were no barriers blocking the flooded section of the road; however, there were several road signs warning of potential flooding in the area.

Public Works did not say when the roads would be reopened.
