COLE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Three people suffered injuries Tuesday in a two-vehicle crash in Cole County.

The crash occurred as a 2006 Toyota Tacoma driven by Charles Voegeli, 66, was attempting to cross Highway 54 westbound from Route D. The second vehicle – a 1997 Buick Lesabre driven by Jay Teutenberg, 58 -- was traveling westbound on highway 54 and struck the driver side of the Toyota, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

The Toyota went into the median and hit a road sign. The Buick crossed eastbound Highway 54 and struck a rock bluff.

Teutenberg, of Linn Creek, and his passenger, Mary Box, 66, of Camdenton, as well as Voegeli were in serious condition, according to the Highway Patrol. All three were brought to University Hospital in Columbia by ambulance.

MU Health Care said Teutenberg was in fair condition and Box is in good condition.

Both vehicles were totaled.
