California man accused of child sex crimes

CALIFORNIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Cole County Sheriff's department arrested Jason Davis, 36, of California, on Thursday for sexual offenses involving a 4-year-old girl.

According to a release, officials say allegations against Davis were brought to the department in January.

According to court documents, Davis allegedly went to the child's bed at night and had intercourse in Aug. 2020.

The victim told family members of what happened and the victim was taken to the Rainbow House.

Court documents reveal the victim told the interviewer what Davis did on a drawing.

Davis is charged with 1st-degree rape and 2nd degree child molestation.

The court issued no bond to Davis.

Davis's arraignment was scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday.
