ABC 17 News

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Cole County Prosecuting Attorney's Office confirmed Friday that it has dismissed a fourth-degree assault charge filed against Cole County Assessor Chris Estes.

The charge was filed in June 2019 after Estes allegedly punched his neighbor over a property dispute. Estes took that property dispute to court in October.

Estes referred questions from ABC 17 News to his attorney Friday morning.

Estes is currently running for a fourth term as the county's assessor.
