BRAZITO, Mo. (KMIZ)

An Eldon woman was seriously injured in a crash Monday afternoon on Highway 54 at Brazito, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened on eastbound Highway 54 at Route E and closed the eastbound lanes around 12:30 p.m. The Missouri State Highway Patrol said before 2 p.m. that the road had reopened.

According to a crash report, a car driven by Hannah Cotten, 29, lost control, crossed the median and struck an SUV head-on.

Cotten was taken to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries, troopers said. The driver of the SUV suffered minor injuries.
