Vigil set after high school basketball player’s death

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A student-led vigil will be held in Chariton County on Monday night to celebrate the life of a Salisbury basketball and football player.

The vigil in honor of junior London White will be held at the football field at 8:15 p.m., the school district said. Salisbury R-IV also reported White's death in a letter Monday but did not provide details about when or how he died.

White was a small forward on the high school basketball team, according to Max Preps.

The Salisbury administration said in the letter that the basketball team will compete in the upcoming state Final Four tournament with the blessing of White's family.

Those games will be played in Springfield.
