Camden Man nearly drowns at Lake of the Ozarks Friday

LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Camden County man nearly drowned at the Lake of the Ozarks Friday evening, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

An online drowning incident report states that Jared Hawkins, 31 was near the Miller Hollow Cove around six o'clock when he went into shallow water to try and get something that had fallen into the water.

Troopers say by-standers had to help get Hawkins out of the water.

He was taken to Lake Regional Hospital with serious injuries.
