Woman stable after being shot by Camdenton police
CAMDENTON, Mo. (KMIZ)
A woman was stable at a hospital Monday after she was shot Sunday night by a Camdenton police officer, the department said in a news release.
Police responded to a call at a restaurant at 8:30 p.m. Sunday following a report of an argument between two people wearing military fatigues with guns and another man.
A man and a woman dressed in “military-style attire,” were found by police at the intersection of Osage Avenue and Iowa Street, according to the press release. As police tried to take the man into custody, the woman allegedly pulled a gun from her side and pointed it at the officers. One officer shot her.
The woman was brought to an area hospital and is in stable condition, according to the release.
The investigation is now being handled by the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The press release stated the officer who shot the gun is on administrative leave.
The names of the two people with guns and the officer who fired at the woman was not revealed in the release.
