CAMDENTON, Mo. (KMIZ)

Camden County Sheriff's department is reporting a death investigation involving an overdose at South State Highway 7 in Montreal.

Officials say the investigation led them to the victim’s son. The son allegedly supplied a purported controlled substance that he had created from other illicit ingredients to the victim.

Officials report this substance was believed to be the cause of death.

Dereck Beck, 24, of Camdenton, was charged with 1st-degree involuntary manslaughter and given a surety bond of $100,000.

Morgan Walters, 23, of Camdenton, was charged with 1st-degree involuntary manslaughter and given a surety bond of $30,000.
