Details revealed in court documents about Camdenton assault that sent an elderly man to Columbia hospital

CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Sunrise Beach man faces multiple felonies after Camden County Sheriff's deputies say an elderly man was seriously injured.

Michael Barker, 28, was charged with first-degree domestic assault, stealing and fourth-degree assault of a special victim.

According to a Camden County probable cause statement, Barker called dispatch and said "he had just assaulted and killed the victim."

When deputies arrived they found the victim by the front door bleed uncontrollably and difficulty breathing according to court documents.

Deputies report finding Barker in the yard and took him into custody. Court documents reveal that a deputy found the victim's credit cards, a Walmart card and driver's license. The deputy also stated that Barker had blood on him without having any injuries to cause the blood according to court documents.

During the investigation, Barker told the deputy about assaulting the victim and that he "stomped that ***** out" according to court documents.

According to online case information, Barker bond was denied.
