SERVE receives furniture from shuttered Fulton hospital

FULTON, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Callaway County nonprofit got some help from a now-closed hospital.

SERVE in Callaway County received some of the old furniture from the shuttered Fulton hospital.

SERVE CEO Stephanie Rademan said the person leading the clean-out of the hospital building asked to donate the furniture as the building is set for sale. Rademan said the donated furniture helps SERVE put more money toward programs like its food pantry.

"We had a budget for furniture. Well now, I can replace that budget with the donated furniture and I can use those funds to keep the food coming in, because we're buying food every week," Rademan said.

Ziva Medical is set to take over the hospital building.
