Auxvasse to hold meeting Thursday evening, is in search of volunteer firefighters
AUXVASSE, Mo. (KMIZ)
The City of Auxvasse is set to host a meeting on Thursday evening to recruit volunteer firefighters.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Auxvasse Fire Department.
The City of Auxvasse sent out a reminder on its Facebook page on Thursday afternoon and had announced the meeting last week.
"Reminder, tonight is the meeting at the Auxvasse Fire Department. Hope to see those interested in becoming a volunteer!" the post says.
The meeting comes after an unanimous decision by the City Council to terminate Fire Chief Rebecca Stone on July 11. In the release, the city clarified that only Stone was let go, and no volunteers were dismissed.
A Facebook post attributed to Stone on the Fire Department’s Facebook page claimed that all fire department members were let go. The city’s press release at the time said the Fire Department’s page was “not an official channel.”
