BOONVILLE, Mo. (KMIZ)

A U.S. Department of Labor spokesman said on Tuesday that OSHA has been notified of the death of an employee at the Caterpillar facility in Boonville.

The worker died Monday morning, according to the Boonville Police Department.

The worker’s death is being reported as “natural causes,” the Department of Labor spokesman said in an email. OSHA is in contact with Caterpillar and the coroner’s office and will wait to receive their report, the spokesman said.

Police stated on Monday that the death is under investigation, but there is currently “no evidence to suggest foul play.”

An accident report was not available on OSHA’s website.

ABC 17 News reached out to Caterpillar on Monday and has yet to hear back.
