Boone County 911 phone service down

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The 911 emergency phone line in Boone County went offline Wednesday morning.

Boone County Joint Communications issued an alert at about 11:20 a.m. saying that 911 phone service was unavailable. People in need of emergency help are asked to call 311 instead.

The alert didn't give a cause for the outage or an estimated restoration time.
