House fire in Hallsville Tuesday morning causes $40k in damage

Hallsville, Mo. (KMIZ)

No one was hurt after a fire at a single-story home in Hallsville on Tuesday morning.

The fire broke out just before 6 a.m. on the 9700 block of Phillipe Road.

According to Gale Blomenkamp with the Boone County Fire Protection District, the fire started in the attic by a faulty flue pipe from a wood burning stove.

The fire caused $40,000 in damage, Blomenkamp said.

Firefighters cleared the scene just after 9 a.m.

ABC 17 News crews arrived on scene at 6:15 a.m. and saw several fire trucks.
