Boone County Commission to host community meetings on ARPA funding in January

The Boone County Commission announced in a Monday press release that it will host several “information and listening” sessions in January regarding the final round of ARPA-fund distribution.

The commission is taking applications to allocate $6.5 million in American Rescue Plan Act funding through 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26. Applications are expected to be approved in the spring.

According to the release, The meetings will offer community members the chance to share their opinions to commissioners on where the money should go. Boone County released the recipients in the first round of funding in July.

The meetings will also include presentations from the Commission about the application process, timeline and estimated fund-disbursement schedule, according to the release.

According to the release, the meetings will take place:

  • 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8 at the Boone County Government Center
  • 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9 at Centralia City Hall
  • 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10  at the Southern Boone County R-1 Central Office Boardroom
  • 2:15 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11 at the Boone County Government Center
  • 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16 at the Boone County Family Resources building at 2700 West Ash Street  in Columbia
