Eldon man badly injured in Highway 63 crash in Boone County

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

An Eldon man was hospitalized Wednesday morning with serious injuries after a crash that closed southbound Highway 63 in Boone County.

The crash happened near Gilmore Lane, south of Ashland at about 9 a.m. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Dennis Kiska, 58, of St. Robert, Missouri, was driving the wrong way on southbound 63 and caused a collision with two other cars.

The driver of one of those cars, Bob Allen, 67, was taken by ambulance to University Hospital in serious condition. He remained in serious condition Wednesday afternoon. Carolyn Allen, 65, also of Eldon, was also taken to the hospital and was in good condition Wednesday afternoon.

The crash temporarily closed the highway just south of Ashland.

Troopers arrested Kiska at the scene on suspicion of DWI, a patrol spokesperson said.
