No arrests after weekend house party shooting leaves two teens dead, four injured
BOONE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Boone County Sheriff's Office is still looking for those responsible for shooting and killing two teens and injuring four others at a house party at a vacant home Sunday morning.
However, the Sheriff's Office says, "they have no information about a specific threat to the community" and they have no indication the shooting was a random attack.
Cpt. Brian Leer with the Boone County Sheriff's Office says as of now they will not be commenting any further on the identity or conditions of those who were shot.
ABC 17 News reached out to Columbia Public Schools spokesperson Michelle Baumstark to see if the victims may have attended a CPS school.
Baumstark says they do not have names at this time.
The Boone County Sheriff's Office said they responded to the 2600 block of Oakbrook Dr. at 12:47 a.m. to reports of shots being fired.
The Sheriff's Office said a party was being held at a vacant residence and believed there were dozens of people in attendance when a verbal disturbance broke out between two opposing groups.
The verbal altercation then led to gunshots which resulted in the death of a 16 and 17-year-old and four other teens between the ages of 16 and 19-years-old suffering non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
ABC 17 News Crews spoke to multiple neighbors on Sunday morning and one neighbor told crews she heard about 20 shots which sounded like they came from two different guns. Neighbors also said the home where the party was taking place had been vacant for some time.
ABC 17 News called the Boone County Sheriff's Office on Monday morning to see if they had any updates but are still waiting to hear back.
