Boone County Commission begins reviewing ARPA funding applications

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Boone County Commission announced in a Thursday press release that it is beginning the review process for the first round of American Rescue Plan Act funding.

The 20-person review team met for its first meeting early this week, quickly following the March 31 application deadline.

The Commission said it received more than 100 applications for funding totaling over $80 million in requests, which exceeded expectations. There is $15 million available for funding.

The Commission remains hopeful that approved projects will be announced early June.
