COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Two men are dead after a semi-truck and a truck crashed on Highway 63 in northern Boone County at 1:20 p.m. Monday, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at Highway 63 at Route NN near Sturgeon and shut down lanes.

The victims of the crash were Danny Stidham, 72, of Harrisburg, and Carl McDonald, 60, of Fayette. Both were taken to the Boone County Medical Examiner's Office.

Stidham was allegedly driving slowly in the right northbound lane on Highway 63 in his 1980 GMC ME6500. McDonald approached in his 2018 Kenworth T880 and failed to sufficiently slow down and hit Stidham's vehicle, according to an MSHP crash report.

The northbound lanes were closed for several hours, as was one southbound lane. The scene was cleared by 9:30 p.m.
