Law enforcement hosts several prescription drug take back events in Boone County

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Boone County Sheriff's Office announced a series of prescription drug take back events on Monday.

Several area law-enforcement agencies are participating in the events, which will be held Friday and Saturday.

Residents may drop off their unwanted medications for disposal. All medications will be turned over to the DEA for proper disposal. The Boone County Sheriff's Office asks residents to not include needles.

Events being held 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28:

  • Harry S. Truman VA Hospital, 800 Hospital Drive in Columbia
  • MU Student Center, 901 Rollins Road in Columbia.

Events being held from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29:

  • Ashland Police Department, 101 W. Broadway in Ashland.
  • Centralia Police Department Lobby, 114 S. Rollins Street in Centralia.
  • Hallsville Police Department, 202 Highway 124 East in Hallsville.
  • Hickman High School (north entrance), 1104 N. Providence Road in Columbia.
  • Rock Bridge High School (north entrance), 4303 S. Providence Road in Columbia.
