Fayette man killed in Boone County crash
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Fayette man died in a Friday night crash north of Columbia.
Alexander Mears, 23, died after his Ford Explorer overturned at about 9 p.m. Friday on North Wagon Trail Road near East Dash Street, according to the Boone County Sheriff's Office. Mears was thrown from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash happened when Mears lost control of the SUV on a curve, deputies say. The vehicle rolled and came to rest on its top in the road, according to the sheriff's office.
A passenger was able to escape the vehicle with injuries that were not life-threatening, deputies say. She was wearing a seat belt and was taken to a hospital for treatment,
