Missouri Task Force 1 heads back to Columbia after helping out during historic flooding in Kentucky

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Missouri Task Force 1 is on the way back to Columbia after they received their demobilization orders Thursday morning.

Officials say the team should arrive at Boone County Fire Protection District Headquarters around noon Friday.

Missouri Task Force 1 was called out to help with the historic flooding in Kentucky on July 30.

Crews were tasked with targeted missions including helping find survivors and human remains on land and on the water. The latest update shows that 39 people died due to the flooding.

The total deployment for this operation included 47 people with four human remain detection canines.
