Power back on for more than 200 Boone Countians

Boone Electric Cooperative

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Friday morning power outage has been restored, according to Boone Electric Cooperative.

The electricity provider posted to Twitter shortly after 8:30 a.m. Friday, saying a downed wire caused the outage in the Hinton area.

Spokeswoman Meridith Hoenes told ABC 17 News that wind likely knocked the wire down.

Boone Electric Cooperative's outage map showed 198 people were without power at 8 a.m. However, from 5-7 a.m., the map showed 442 customers were in the dark.

Shortly before 9 a.m., the provider said all power was restored.
